What if I am active clergy with no personal income?
If you are actively serving in ministry and do not personally receive income, you may request hardship access to Exegesis Biblica at $1.00/year. This is not a discount campaign or a public giveaway; it is a pastoral accommodation for clergy whose vocation places them in service while limiting their ability to pay. After your Superior verifies your status, Exegesis Biblica manually grants access so the Word of God may continue to serve preaching, study, prayer, teaching, and sacramental ministry.
This program exists in the spirit of the Gospel: “Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give” — Matthew 10:8. Exegesis Biblica seeks to assist those who break open Sacred Scripture for the people of God, especially when financial hardship would otherwise place a faithful resource out of reach.

Exegesis Biblica is a copyrighted work and a mission-driven Catholic resource dedicated to Sacred Scripture. It is the only verse-by-verse Catholic biblical exegesis resource covering all 73 books of the Bible. The work is offered as an Online Encyclopedia of Sacred Scripture for those who need disciplined, reverent engagement with the whole canon.
Hardship access is reserved for qualifying clergy
You may be eligible if the following are true:
- You are active Catholic clergy, a religious cleric, or a seminarian in active formation under ecclesial authority.
- You currently have no personal income available for a paid plan.
- You can provide Superior verification of your status and need.
- You agree to use the resource personally and lawfully.
- You understand that access is not transferable, shareable, or institutional unless specifically granted in writing.
- You will use the material for ministry, study, preaching preparation, catechesis, or prayerful formation.
The verification process is personal and manual
Hardship access is manually granted by Exegesis Biblica after Superior verification. The ordinary process is simple:
- Prepare your request. State your name, clerical or formation status, ministry context, and that you currently have no personal income.
- Include Superior verification. Provide confirmation from your Superior, pastor, rector, bishop’s office, or religious community authority.
- Submit the hardship request using the application form below.
- Wait for review. Exegesis Biblica reviews the request after verification is received.
- Receive your confirmation and next steps and activate your access within 2–3 business days after verification.
